Holiday party transportation in San Francisco comes down to three decisions: a vehicle that fits your headcount, a pickup plan that gets everyone there together, and a ride home that is booked before the night starts. For a group, that usually means a Luxury Sprinter for up to 12 guests or a Mini Coach for up to 25.
Here is how to size the vehicles, how to book them, and what to settle before December.
Match the vehicle to your headcount
Count the guests who need a ride to the party, then count the ones who need a ride home. The two numbers are often different, and both decide how many vehicles you need.
Blue Sky's fleet, by group size:
- 1 to 2 guests: Cadillac XTS sedan
- Up to 5: Lincoln Navigator L
- Up to 6: Cadillac Escalade ESV or Chevy Suburban
- Up to 12: Luxury Sprinter, a high-roof van you can walk through, with LED ambient lighting and a surround-sound system
- Up to 25: Mini Coach, with overhead storage and a climate-controlled cabin
For a larger group, we can send more than one vehicle.
Hourly service or one-way transfers
There are two ways to book a group night out.
Hourly As Directed keeps the vehicle and chauffeur with you. The minimum is three hours, and you can add or skip stops as the night goes: dinner first, then the party, then drop-offs at home. Hourly bookings are billed for the full reserved time, even if the night ends early, so book the hours you expect to use. See Hourly As Directed.
Point to Point covers one pickup and one destination at a fixed rate, with no surge pricing. If the whole group is going to one venue and leaving at about the same time, a transfer there and a transfer back can be simpler. Ask for a quote both ways and compare. See Point to Point.
Plan the pickups
Each extra pickup adds time before the night starts. A few ways to keep it short:
- Pick one or two meeting points, such as the office or a hotel lobby, and start the evening there.
- If you need several pickups, list the addresses when you book. You can add stops, and your chauffeur builds the route around your plan.
- Set the time for the ride home when you book, and choose one person in the group to call it if plans change.
Book as soon as the date is set
Sprinter and Mini Coach reservations need at least 72 hours' notice. Book as soon as your venue and date are confirmed, and read the cancellation policy before you do.
A few rules to know before the night
- All vehicles are non-smoking.
- Food and alcohol aren't allowed on board, so plan drinks at the venue.
- A valid government-issued photo ID has to be on file at booking or shown to the chauffeur at pickup.
- Gratuity isn't added automatically. You can add it at booking or give it to your chauffeur.

Get the group home safely
December is a dangerous month on the road. In December 2023, the latest year NHTSA has data for, 1,038 people died in drunk-driving crashes in the United States. NHTSA's advice is to plan a sober ride home before the night begins. Booking the return trip together with the ride there settles it for the whole group.
